Drummers With Attitude

A parent's reaction to CHOP performance 1/26/2012:

"The Drummers With Attitude group represented your district with pride and devotion. They were truly a joy to watch and listen to and provided a much needed distraction for many patients and families at CHOP. While they performed in the Atrium area, people stopped up and down the steps, in the halls of the upper floors. There were children that were in isolation in the cancer ward that had their bald little heads pressed up against their windows to watch the group perform. My son has been in-patient here for 2 days and had an afternoon surgery scheduled. The group's performance was able to distract him and give us a few minutes to just feel and be in the moment. While your group performed, the audience was blind for a few minutes. They were blind to the adversity, struggling and pain they were feeling. They were able to feel through the beats and just be free to enjoy a few moments of life. It was a beautiful moment. Myself and several other parents brimmed with tears, greatful to the depths of our hearts for those fleeting moments of respite. Thank you again for sharing your group with the children at CHOP. It was a gift of of immeasurable value."
